This year at the Broadside Wargames Show in Gillingham, Posties Rejects are putting on a demo game
from The Retreat from Moscow in 1812.
Crossing the Berezina
The French army began crossing the Berezina River on November 26, 1812. The crossing, which lasted until November 29, 1812, took place under heavy enemy fire and resulted in a chaotic and desperate escape during the retreat from Moscow.
Stupidly me and Lee have left everything until the last minute, even though we finished (cough) painting our figures for the game months ago. The pics in this post were from only our second game of Shap Practice, which worked out a lot better than our first game did. We've added a few things and taken away a few things from the rules, as we're playing with bigger armies than the rules are supposed to cope with. But we seem to have everything worked out and this game really playedbetter than we both expected it to.
Myself and Lee and Paul will have some copies of our book Battle Chronicle - 1812 The Retreat from Moscow, available to buy, at the show. A release date of June the 1st has been finalized as I said in my last post.
The rules themselves cost £12 and will be available to purchase online on the Pazoot Website, if you enter the discount code RAY10, at the checkout, you'll get 10%, off the price!!!
Need figures to play the game?
We’ve teamed up with the guys at Pendraken who have bagged up everything you need to get started.
The rules and figures bundle is £30 and includes all the figures you need to play.
Grab yours here. And don't forget the code RAY10.
So if you fancy seeing the game in real life come along to the show, its on Saturday the 13th June and starts at 10am at Medway Park Sports Centre, Mill Road, Gillingham, Kent, ME7 1HF.
It's only £4 to get in, so come and join us at the show!!!

Thirty pounds is a bargain. Bet you guys are stoked to present the game at the show.
ReplyDeleteWe are looking forward to the game, but unfortunately, maybe stupidly, we're not playing the new rules. The new rules make for a smaller style game, we wanted to showcase a lot of the figures we've painted up over the last year, so we're using a different set called Sharp Practice.
DeleteHope you have a cracking time at the show Ray, should be a good game to see. The Pendraken and rules deal is a real bargain too.
ReplyDeleteIt should be fun, that's for sure. Are we gonna tempt you with the rules, Donnie?
DeleteI'm sure the game will go well at the show. That Pendraken offer is a cracking deal
ReplyDeleteIt is a great deal, Neil!!
DeleteGreat to see all of your beautifully painted 1812 Russian Campaign figures on the gaming table. Definitely a winner!
ReplyDeleteI hope so, Dean?
DeleteNice collaboration with Pazoot and Pendraken.
ReplyDeleteIts going very well so far, Norm.
DeleteSadly a bit too far to travel but I’m sure the game will be a hit 👍
ReplyDeleteYes, a tad too far for you, Matt.
Delete“C’est la Berezina” is a common phrase that my older French neighbours use to describe something that is a total mess, btw. Great looking game you’ve got there.
ReplyDeleteThanks JMB! What a great saying, just shows you, if they're still using it today, it must have hit the French population very hard at the time.
DeleteIt's all looking good Ray...hope the show game is a big hit with the punters too!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed, Keith.
DeleteAh! Looking awesome ❤️❤️❤️
ReplyDeleteCheers Michal!
DeleteI'll look forward to the report on the Broadside game. It should certainly be a visual spectacle.
ReplyDeleteThe practice game worked very well, so hopefully the Rejects don't break the game on the day.
DeletePimpin' those rules !!!!!
ReplyDeleteAmen, brother!
DeleteLooks like it will be a fun game Ray. Best of luck with it all.
ReplyDeleteHopefully it'll go down well.
DeleteGreat scenes again in the photos. My set of the rules is paid for and I did remember the code. I already have Alternative Armies Deadloque troops to use and I may be tempted to some more historical figures later though that would mean a certain amount of duplication.
ReplyDeleteAre your modifications to SP2 in a form you can make available?
Stay warm in all that snow or perhaps it's designed to keep you feeling cool when the weather heats up again.
Stephen
We can share them, I suppose, most are pinched from a booklet called, "1812 There and Back again" from this site....
Deletehttps://krigetkommer.weebly.com/rules--downloads.html
In Sharp Practice, you should only really play with roughly 8 units per side, but we went way over the top, so needed to change something, this booklet was perfect and gives other ideas in enlarge Sharp Practice games.
Looking forward to our demo now. I feel like we are almost ready at last.
ReplyDelete100% should be a laugh!!!
DeleteGreat looking game , congrats on getting your product over the finish line.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joe, it was indeed a lot of hard work, but a hell of a lot of fun as well.
DeleteThere are always some heroics to be found in good old mother Russia.
ReplyDeleteCertainly is Dez!
DeleteThose photos of the game look great Ray and fingers crossed for the rules to do well. Nice ideas behind the mechanics for a narrative driven game that is solo friendly too. And of course good to see Pendraken involved too:)!
ReplyDeleteI must admit to be quite proud and very pleased how the rules turned out, they'll work out well playing solo or in a group. And yes' very cool getting Pendraken involved.
DeleteCracking job getting rules done keen to maybe do 10mm.
ReplyDelete10mm is a great option, you won't need to break the bank to get started playing the game.
DeleteOdd that Pendraken do not seemingly gly advertise it on their website.
ReplyDeletePaul's been away for a week or so, I'm sure when he's back you'll see it up on Pendraken's site.
DeleteLooking forward to the game and the show.
ReplyDeleteIt should be fun, Rich!!!
DeleteHave a fun time Ray
ReplyDeleteI'm sure we will, thanks Dave.
DeleteLooks great, have fun!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
I am sure that it went off an absolute treat Ray. We'll see and read about it here soon, I am sure!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes, James
