Donnybrook - 25mm Polish Pancerni

For the Challenge this year I plan to paint up a Polish/Imperialist Donnybrook force to take on
the Ottoman Turks I painted in Challenge 11.

After a chat with Reject Richard during the summer, he said he had a few figures he found in a draw from a project that was never really started. When we finally met up after the Covid lockdown.
He presented me with 5 painted Pancerni figures from Old Glory!

He had originally painted up the whole pack of 10 figures, the other 5 have vanished!

What to do what to do?
Essex Miniatures came to my rescue, I bought another 5 figures and tried my very best to match them to Richard's paintjob

So my new army has its first unit and there's a few more to go, which will appear on my blog over the coming months.........I hope?

Cheers Ricardo!

    1. These new lead mountains do seem to crop up from time to time, don't they?

  2. They all look fantastic Ray, and without reading of your missing five, I'd certainly have thought all ten were painted together by the same person. Excellent work, imho. Really looking forward to seeing the rest for the AHPC.

  6. The pancerni certainly look cohesive and well done. The rest of the Army will be a treat to look at, glad to know it is not only me that 'loses' figures.

  9. Always like seeing a Polish army, so many exotic choices!! Good match with the painting, I wouldn't have known they were in two different batches.

  11. Really like the horse colours Ray. I prefer renaissance wargames in 6mm. Well, most wargames now actually.

    1. I'd like to get into 6mm, if I'm honest, just not sure I could see the things though.

  12. Marvellous Ray. Lovely Pancerni to go with (against) those wonderful Ottomans. I really like the Pancerni (second only to the Winged Hussars, or course) and you have done them a treat.
