Donnybrook - Redoubt minis - Poor Folk

Once again, these have been sitting in the same bag I bought them in for many many moons!!
I'd take a guess at, at least 5 years!

So during the Lockdown I thought it was about time they got a lick of paint.
I'm not sure if they're still available or if they're even on the Redoubt website??

I kept the colours kind of muted and dull as the figures represent poor folk or old soldiers begging.
These of course will make in into the Donnybrook civvy box, one day they will make an appearance!

  4. I don't think I've seen those before Ray, you really must have had them for a long time.

  5. The peasants are revolting! My favourites are the guy with the begging hat and the woman sitting next to him.

  7. Nice work there Ray. I'm surprised you've waited 5 years before the painting- to be honest if I buy something in the way of 25mm Figures - I cannot wait to see them based, undercoated, painted and lacquered...about a week is all I'm prepared to wait...having said that- I've some Fantasy Figures in plastic which I probably will never paint- as I have virtually no use for them as they may not mix well with the figures on order from the UK. Regards. KEV.

    1. You should see my leadpile Kev, I've had some figures in it for 20+ years. I started painting SYW figures back in 90-91, I've still got a massive box full of Essex minis waiting for some paint.

    1. There's a rule in Donnybrook that these would fit in perfectly for."As troops move forward to attack the town, they spy the beggers in the street. On the roll of a dice they fling their rags of to reveal pristine red uniform of Kirke's regt and give fire to the unsuspecting French!!"
      Well something like that anyway????

  10. I do like to see civilians on the table, whether as eye-candy, objectives r whatever. I may well have these same figures in my lead pile too from the late 90's.
Well done on the colour coices, they do look poor and miserable.
