Warfare Wargames Show 2025

Four Rejects braved the cold and drove south to Farnborough for our annual trip to Warfare. This is the third year on the trot that we've got to Warfare and I can't see why we wont be back again for the next few years either. Its a lot smaller than some shows we go to but still packs that punch you wanna get from a show.

First stop was the Bring & Buy.
I was tempted several times but held fast, Warfare has the best Bring & Buy of the shows we go to, sure there's some toot, but there's also loads of reasonably priced goodies, unfortunately none of which I wanted.

Rant Time
I've taken my usual glut of photos of the games on show, some will have labels some won't (ggrr)!!

I'm gonna moan now, if you are bothering to go to a show to show off your figures and play a game, at least do us a favour and have a piece of paper saying who you are and what you're playing, and a little interaction would be nice too, I don't want a 2 hour talk about your game, just a little bit of info, so I can add it here for others not fortunate enough to attend the show. No names mentioned but at several tables I was glared at for having the gall to take some photos and interrupt the running their busy game, their photos of their game have not been included in this report.
Have a little thought please, that's all I'm asking, myself and BigLee have said this I don't know how many times????

  1. I'm with you Ray! I ran my first ever participation game at a show this year, and about a week before I heard you and Lee on Ken's podcast discussing the issue of people not having signs on their games. You better believe I got one put together for my table right quick!

  2. Charnwood was amazing! And that one with the big castle - this D&D player would've loved that.
No sign and not wanting you to take photos? What were they there for?

  3. It might be a small show but there are some high quality games and displays there. Great stuff Ray.

  4. Thanks for the report, Ray. I missed the show this year, when an old friend thoughtlessly invited a bunch of us for a whole week of games at his place that clashed with it. At least I can look at your pictures now, which is not as good as being in both places at the same time, but it's a lot better than missing out completely on Warfare. Cheers.

  6. You tease you! New secret project, very intriguing indeed! Some great games on show and I am with you on people not having any bumph on who they are and what they are playing, does not make sense to me. It may be one of the smaller shows but looks like it is a belter.

    1. Its a great show Donnie, not too far to drive for us either, only 90 minutes or so. And you get other traders that don't go to our usual shows, so what's not to love?

  7. A fine report thanks Ray! It's seems like skirmish games and ancients really turned out in force! I didn't see very much horse and musket or were those the ones giving you the side eye and got omitted from the pics?

    1. Yeh, there were a lot of ancients and medieval games on show this time round. But its my first 1898 Cuba game.....I think?

    2. Didn’t you play in a remote 1898 Las Guasimas game at my table? Hmm. I’ll have to check my archives.

  10. Great selection of Pic's Ray - agreed on the advertising - we always look at it as a way of showcasing the club otherwise what's the point of going :-)

  11. Some nice looking games, Ray. Why demonstrate a game if you don't sign it or want to talk about. They might as well play it at home. It's plain rude as well.

    1. It unfortunately seems that way, some clubs do treat their show game as a club night game and ignore the public, who have paid good money to see their game. Makes me mad, Rich!

    2. I wonder how many of these guys don't have the table space at home for a big game, so they look at show games to get that fix...
