Curt the Viking

To take part in the Analouge Painting Challenge the only condition was to paint up one of Curt's Viking figures. Which I thought was a damn good idea, unfortunately my Viking must have rowed his boat all the way across the Atlantic from Canada, as I didn't get it until 5 days before the Challenge finished. So he never made it onto my painting table until after the Challenge. Curt's over in the UK for Salute and a game with the Rejects the day after Salute, where he can pick up his namesake Viking hornblower. I was quite pleased how he turned out, its given me a bit of enthusiasm to glue together my Gripping Beast Vikings.......I think???

    1. Its pretty easy, copy my pic, open up your layout page, then click add a gadget, scroll down until you come to "picture", then just follow the prompts!

  4. Hoi Ray, great mini, sometimes an one-figure project is just as enjoyable as a whole regiment, specially when done in great style and with some proper background story.

    Thanks for showing us Curt!

    Cheers Sander

  8. Great looking figure, and a great paintjob as well. I'm always tempted by Saga and things, as I like the dark ages, but still haven't taken the plunge. resisting so far.

  9. This is nice Ray. I like the way you did the ivory on that horn. You gave it a worn look without being heavy handed with it. The shading on the tunic is nice as well.

What happened to the Salute post that popped up a couple hours ago?

  26. Good to see you can paint the bigger models as well as the smaller ones. Are you going to base him or leave that for Curt to do in order to match his other figs?

    1. I'll leave it for Curt, I'm not sure how he'd want it based.

  29. There's got to be a joke in there about Vikings and Hornblower, but I'm too tired . . .

Good figure though and a nice paint job!

  30. Funny, I just saw this! Its really no surprise as by that date we were already winging it over to London from Canada. Brilliant figure, Ray! He is now on my painting desk next to my Honourary Posties Reject award/sigil. I'll be basing him up with many of the others over the summer months! Thanks again!
