Another regiment for Matt from Battleaxe, Postie painted the last unit of Uhlans, so it was my turn this time. These are 25mm Battle Honours figures, they definitely not as good a figure as the
last unit, they have a lot less detail on them. These are painted a slightly different colour than the last unit as well, just to differentiate them both as they both have red piping. They represent the 4th Bavarian Uhlans, hence their blue and white pennon. I've got more British Infantry to paint up for Matt, these will be entered into Curt's Challenge, once I clean the buggers up, that is!!!!
Those look great Ray!
ReplyDeleteCheers Tim!!
DeleteVery, very nice Ray. Early WW1 really appeals to me.
ReplyDeleteSadly I don't have anyone close by who feels the same :-)
The early part's the best, cavalry charging machine guns, all the colourful uniforms, then it all goes to dull colours and the dreaded trench warfare????
DeleteLooking very good Ray !
ReplyDeleteBest regards Michael
Cheers Michael!
DeleteVery nice Ray. I also have some painting for Matt to do. They also might make it to Curts Challenge but like your ones they will need to be tidied up first.
ReplyDeleteWhat are you painting Clint?
DeleteFine figures Ray!
ReplyDeleteThanks Paul!
DeleteGreat looking unit none the less.
ReplyDeleteCheers Anne!!!
DeleteSuperb
ReplyDeleteGreat work Ray !
ReplyDeleteGreetings and Happy Christmas .
Thanks Capt, Hope you had a great Christmas!
DeleteFantastic paintwork Ray!
ReplyDeleteExcellent work Ray. Having these chaps chasing you down as you retreat from Mons can't have been at all fun! Great painting, at a remarkable speed!
ReplyDeleteCheers Sydney, I must have been pretty bad!!!
DeleteWell painted and presented. Have a great Christmas Ray
ReplyDeleteThanks General! And I hope you had a great Christmas too!
DeleteNice looking unit mate.
ReplyDeleteExcellent job your Rayliness!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne!!
DeleteSplendid, rather like these Ray.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, Ray!
ReplyDeleteLook clean to me. You did a great job - can't tell there is less detail.
ReplyDeleteNice work on these Ray.
ReplyDeleteChristopher
there are rather fine Ray. I also like the fact the lances don't look like tree trunks that you sometime get.
ReplyDeleteThe lances actually come with the figures, they're a little to bendy for my liking but what the heck!
DeleteIt has all been said before, Ray: Great Job! I'd join an army where everybody wore big long moustaches.
ReplyDeleteWell said Jay!
Deletethey look ready to pierce somebody!
ReplyDeleteSuper duper impressing, Rayolla.
ReplyDeleteWell done; I like these miniatures. Do you guys have plans for any WW I games next year?
ReplyDeleteI hope so, but it'll probably be with Posties 15mm collection.
DeleteExcellent work!
ReplyDeleteWonderful stuff Ray! I had not seen Battle Honours figures before in this era and they're not bad sculpts at all. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThey're not bad sculpts but lack a little detail of some other makes.
DeleteHeavens to Betsy these are damn fine!
ReplyDeleteNicely done Ray.
Really nice painting job, well done!!! Awesome unit!!! :)
ReplyDeletesehr hübsch die Burschen!
ReplyDeleteThe bigger scale shows your painting skills off much better. Superb.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas,
Pat.
Cheers Pat, you do have to put a little more effort into the big boys I suppose???
DeleteLooking great Ray!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's because I'm not avid in this miniature painting stuff but "a lot less detail" seems a little excessive here.
ReplyDeletevery nice indeed..well done sir!
ReplyDeletegreat work ray. Especially the horses. wow.
ReplyDeleteCheers Markus, glad you like them!
DeleteGreat looking Bavarians. Well done.
ReplyDeleteLooks great!
ReplyDeleteWWI cavalry is one of those fascinating concepts that makes you think in retrospect "who ever thought that was a good idea?" But obviously somebody did.
I know its quite frightening and pretty horrific what the old school Generals did to their cavalry in the early years of the war.
DeleteGreat stuff...love 1914 Cavalry of all sides. whats happend to Matts Blogs? I cant find them anymore.
ReplyDeleteRegards
Adrian
I didn't know Matt had any blogs?
DeleteHope you and the girls had a fun Christmas, Rayolla. Happy 2014.
ReplyDeleteWe did Whisk, but know its back to work! booo!!!! Hope you had a great Christmas!!
