AHPC11 - Chamber of Challenge - Debris of War - Graveyard Beach 62 pts

Sorry folks but I've kinda ignored the second word Beach and gone with the first word, Graveyard.

 Graveyard Beach: Spooky, ghostly, undead and undying things arrive, or resurrect, here under 

Challenge Mountain. Bonus points if combined with a watery or nautical theme.

Its been an interesting Challenge for me this time around, I seem to have got the terrain bug?

Debris of War make a fantastic Graveyard set, but I wanted mine to be more rustic with a countryside look, so I bought their gravestones and different walls.

My original plan was to make a permanent model but after having a chat with Postie, I changed my mind and made it modular otherwise I think I think it would get broken. This way I can store it more easily.

The Debris of War gravestones were rather elaborate affairs only for the upper class. I wanted some plain ordinary worn out looking ones, so I bought some MDF ones from Ebay. I painted them with very watered down polyfiller to give them a stone look. I even left some unbased  to lean against the walls.

This dashing looking fellow was going to be a Ghoul/Zombie in my Shrine post, but I changed my mind and painted up the Col Bill's Ghosts. So he's moved into the Graveyard as an extra figure.

I'm not sure of the manufacturer as he and some other chums were gifted to me by me ol pal Fran, before he buggered off back to Ireland. He's part of a collection climbing out of toxic waste barrels!!

The Gravedigger is a Foundry figure from their SYW Prussian  labourers, sorry I can't find the pack on their site? The wheelbarrow and coffin are from Black Tree Design here

Now here's the really difficult bit.....the points!!

The base boards are 16 x 16 inches x 0.5 inch

The walling measure 4 x 14 inch x 1 inch high

There are 27 based Gravestones with another 5 unbased.

1 x 25mm figure

1/2 x 25mm figure

1 x coffin

1 x wheelbarrow

If the base walling and Gravestones are piled up the should make a rough box of 16 x 8 x 2.5

making a total of 1.5 boxes. giving me 30 points

1 x 25mm figure - 5 points

1/2 x 25mm figure - 3 points

1 x coffin - 2 points

1 x wheelbarrow - 2 points

Challenge Bonus - 20 points

Making a total of 62 points.

This pushed me up to No10 in the Challenge chart, the first time I broke into the upper echelons this time round with a 1477 points total.

AHPC11 - Sarah the Sorceress - Dancing Gypsy

 

For my second entry today I'd like to call upon Sarah the Sorceress to transport me from the SnowLord's Treasury to The Hall of Heroes

Please???

Molly's a great dancer, she and her brother Francis (yeh him) earn pennies dancing at village fairs all over the country.

But most of their income comes late at night, when villagers sneak into her caravan to have their palm's read. Her mother used to say Molly had the gift and should use it for other means, but Molly just loves to dance.

You could call Molly a witch, but nobody, even Francis would say it to her face....

Molly and Francis are from Black Tree Designs, who do have lots of weird civilian types

that always seem to fit into the Challenge somewhere, so I have a collection of other bods who every now and then pop up.

Points are easy on this enrty

2 x 25mm figures @ 5pts each

20 point bonus round

30 point all in all!

AHPC11 - Chamber of Challenge - The Laboratory - The Doctor 25pts

 

The Laboratory: From bubbling glass jars to smoking bunsen-burners, from Dr Frankenstein’s experimentation chamber to a alchemist’s study - laboratories and scientific figures, terrain and vignettes are the things created in this Challenge Chamber.

Who works in a Laboratory? A Doctor of course.

So I plumped for the first Doctor, who's from Black Tree Designs Dr Who range.

William Hartnell played Dr Who from 1963 until 1966.

Points are easy 5 points for the Doctor and another 20 for the bonus round.

AHPC11 - Sarah the Sorderess - Skuld

I call upon her Highness Sarah the Sorceress, please transport me from the Armoury to 

The Shrine on Level 2

My third and final Witch from Black Tree Design's Witches from MacBeth set is Skuld.

Once again I've gone for the Hollywood green skintone, which works so well.

She's the only witch carrying a broomstick, it looks like she's gonna hop on?

Also included in this post is their cauldron, with some ungodly broth being cooked up.

Finally a quick shot of the sisters together.

Points wise...

5 points for Skuld

20 points for the bonus

& 2 points for the cauldron???

Making a total of 27 points

AHPC11 - Sarah the Sorceress - Verthandi

I call upon Sarah the Sorceress, please transport me from the Guardroom to the Armoury on Level 2?

My second Witch from Macbeth is Verthandi , she's a bit younger than her sister Urthr, by around

 64 years! She is from Black Tree Design's Macbeth set.  I've carried on with the green skin tone, with goes quite well with the shock of red hair!

I'd guess her hair is modeled on Bette Midler's character Winnie in Hocus Pocus?

Verthandi should earn me 5 points with the Sarah Bonus of 20, making a total of 25 points!!

 Please send me from Adventurers Landing across Level 2 to land at the Guardroom pleeeeze?

This Old Hag named Urthr, comes from a set of figures from Black Tree Designs that I bought a few years ago. I've gone for the Hollywood green skin, it just looked better than the norm.

Her sisters, will be making an appearance later on in the show!

AHPC 11 - The Chamber of Challenge - The Pit & The Pendulem

Another downward step towards The Alter of the SnowLord.

This is my second entry in the Bonus Round of The Chamber of the Challenge.

The Pit of the Pendulum: 

 "Paint something torturous, terrifying - or just something with a slowly descending pendulum-blade… swoosh… swoooooshhhh….. arrrghhhh!!"

I've had this Gibbet & Gallows made by Black Tree Designs for some time now, waiting

for the opportunity to paint it up for the Challenge and this year is it!

Its a fairly easy paintjob to be honest and I've added a figure for scale only.

So my Gibbet will get 20 bonus points plus I guess 5 points for a 25mm figure?
