Well that's Blog-Con done and dusted and I've gotta admit, I had a great time!!!
Met some great like minded chaps and had two days of fun and games! I would have liked a few more games, but the time just seemed to rush past, as it always does!
Me and Fran drove up to Nottingham on Friday afternoon, the journey was horrendous, taking 5 hours, when it was only supposed to be 3!! Bloody traffic, bloody rain! Bloody idiots driving too bleedin' fast, bloody stupid Satnav and dead leg!
Fran said I snored, well so did he! And he wore budgy smugglers as well!!! The lying Shit!
I've split the pics into 2 posts as there were so many, lots didn't come out properly and I also missed a lot, as well, no pics of Ian's 6mm Napoleonics or Mike's Chain of Command game gggrrrr, so check out all the other bloggers who went, Fran, James, Loki, Dave, PK, BigLee, Sydney, Kev, they all took photos and have lots of stuff I missed.
Dave's Cowboy game Blazing Dice, was the biz! It had everything you'd want in a Wild West game, so if you're thinking about buying some Cowboys, (I know I am, thanks Dave, as If I don't have enough to paint already!!) get on over to his Trouble in Serenity blog and download the rules. You won't be disappointed!!
Dave "Blazing Dice" Docherty, Fran"Zzz" Lee, Sheriff Sydney and GI James
In my first game of Cowboys I was "The Man with No Name", that's me on the balcony with my prisoner the dastardly Johnny Ringo. I had to get to the other side of the town and escape on the train. Unfortunately there were other players who wanted to get their hands on Johnny Ringo as well.
It doesn't look far to the train does it?
Just on the other side of the town are the three Pinkerton agents, if you squint you'll see them on the train platform, by the yellow carriage. These were controlled by James, they've decided that they'd like to collect the $25,000 reward for Johnny Ringo, so I could be in trouble???
Look at that happy bloody face!!!!! But Sidney looks pleased with himself!!!! Fran's Cowboys were the brothers of Johnny Ringo, who obviously were a little miffed that their big bro had been captured while Sydney was the town Sheriff and his Deputy Stumpy, trying to keep some sense of law and order.........no chance there then!
Why didn't I use this???
Dave's got some real nice terrain!
Fran's Bad Boys, starting point
Right next to the Sheriff's Office
Sheriff Sydney trundled down the road only to be shot at from the back.....Boooo Hisssss!!!!
Meanwhile Stumpy forgot which way to open the Jail door and nearly knocked himself out.
I ran across the road heading for the train, dragging Johnny Ringo with me.
Meanwhile Fran's now in trouble, his Cowboy's down and Sheriff Syd is trying to arrest him, but the bloody doctor keeps getting in the way!
The Pinkerton's are waiting around the corner, but I still make a dash for the train.
And here The Man with No Name, bites the bullet.........Sod it!
Stumpy finally worked out how to open the door and rushes out to aid the Sheriff Syd.
There's the rotter who shot me, one of James' Pinkerton's
Meanwhile Johnny Ringo makes a bid to escape.
My and Fran's second game of the day. Our first ever game of Saga!
I played the Vikings, while Fran played the Anglo-Danes.
For some reason that both me and Fran couldn't work out??? he placed a large building in the
centre of the table????? Silly Boy!
So it shortened the table, which benefited Fran more.....I think?
The man himself trying to work out the Saga boards?
Fran got a bit of coaching fron Blogger Kev, who's lovely painted figures he was using.
I've got to admit we both struggled a little with the boards, but Loki said after he'd played a few times it was easy to work them out, so this means I'll have to get my rules out and have a read!
It was a very close game, I thought Fran had me, but a little coaching from Mike, I won the day!
Kev's Saxon's
