The Other Partizan 2026 - A VERY long post!!!

What a great day we had at The Other Partizan on Sunday, I'm paying for it know though and am swallowing painkillers like Smarties!!!

The games on show were as per normal very awe inspiring, so here's a very long selection of photos from the day. With the Partizan show reports I usually break the post in two, but I've kept it to one very long mammoth post for a change, so you may need a few cups of tea and a plate of sandwiches to get through the lot!
Good luck!

As we walked in, we bumped straight into Dave Crook, we went away a happy chappy as I gave him a copy of our 1812 Retreat from Moscow campaign book.
Lee stuck a pose as he did with all the pics on the day!!!

First game up, from The Bunker a great Pony Wars 25mm game.

Next up from Kallista/Forest Outlaws was an Imjin War game 1592-1598

I do love a write up for a game, I don't know a lot about the Imjin War, but I know enough now so I can understand the game.

Another game from Forest Outlaws, "March or Die", the French Foreign Legion in North Africa.
Unfortunately the sun ruined some of the shots.

The next game was from Skirmish Wargames, Death in the Land of the Cherry Blossom, A Samurai Adventure in 54mm

Steve Jones - Steve's Painting Shed
Eutaw Spring's 1781. I usually have a chat with Steve about his great looking table but didn't this time round unfortunately!

Then we bumped into fellow Painting Challenge pal Matt Williamson.
Lee was once again striking a pose!!!

Next up is Like a Stonewall, playing a game of the Lardies new rules Full Nelson.
The Battle of Poza de Santa Isobel 1808.

Lincoln Miniatures Warfare Society put on a 28mm African Adventure game titled "Lost Horizons Remake"

Old Pikey's Gaming Group presented a massive Iwo Jimi 15mm game!

There was so much going on, on this table you didn't know where to look!

Another massive game was run by Shrewsbury Wargames Society  it was 28mm 100 Years War demonstration game titled "Medieval Siege".

Martin Gordon put on a great little game entitled Rebellion in the North 1067, using Swordpoint rules.

With this delicious looking Motte & Baily Castle on show!!!

Blitzkrieg Miniatures put on a WWII Navel Game.

The League of Extraordinary Kreigspeilers presented a massive 28mm Seven Years War game, The Battle of Minden 1759.

The Very British Civil Forum put on a 28mm VBCW (Very British Civil War) game titled
 "Merry Go Round".

Henry Hyde gave Lee a cuddle while filming for his Podcast!

The Gentlemen Pensioners presented us with another Pony Wars game again in 28mm this one was called "Bugles to the West - The Battle of the Little Bighorn", they were using the new Osprey rules which are being released next year.

Next up are Fieldcraft UK with their great looking 28mm WW2 game "Operation Exporter 1941, Vichy French North Africa"

I'm a bit of a Floppy Hat nut so I really loved this game from Derby Wargames Society. The Battle of Reading 9th December 1688.

The Iron Brigade put on a great looking Rapid Fire game using 20mm figures set at the landings at Juno Beach June 1944, during WWII.

Me & Ken The Yarkshire Gamer

Ken was umpiring a 28mm Franco Prussian game, testing a set of rules, unfortunately I can't remember the name!!!

Bramley Barn Wargames Club put on a  28mm Second Anglo Sikh War game called
 The Battle of Suraj Khund

I was tapped on the shoulder by Roger from Great Northern War and Other Projects blog, who was running the game.

I turned around after chatting to Roger and bumped into Alex from Storm of Steel, who has already posted a great video of the day, here.

1st Corps played a 28mm WW2 game The BEF's Counter attack at Arras 1940

Another Floppy Hat feast for the eyes was Simon Miller's Lust for Glory, which were released this week!! Simon's game was the Battle of Seneffe 1674, during the Franco-Dutch War.
Dribble!!!

Mr John Kersey/1/72nd once again produced a game that I know nothing about, The  Kislavian Civil War's, The Crossing of the Yeltsina River 1919

Battletech - Gothic Invasion

If 28mm Ancients are your thing you'd have loved the game the Bodkins put on "Aut vincere aut mori" or "Either to conquer or die", Britannia 43AD a game inspired by the Battles of the Medway and Thames.

It was the usual paintfest that the Bodkins have each game they put on.

Mike Whittaker of Trouble at T'Mill blog.

Mogsymakes - Rorkes Drift 1879

Peter Dennis put on a 1:1 game of The Battle of Hastings using his hand drawn paper figures, using James Morris' Midgard rules.

I must admit it looked bloody impressive in the flesh! Or is that in he Paper?

Oh goodie more Floppy hats!
This time from Mr Floppy himself Barry Hilton's League of Augsberg, bringing us his a game with his  WSS collection entitled Churchill's Challenge

Me and Lee with Mr Floppy himself
Barry gave us the heads up on his knew set of rules, hopefully more on that at a later date??

Colin on the right was waiting for Barry to stop talking so he could get on with thrashing Churchill as he'd been doing that all day.

Jumping forward to WWII once again, here we have Barely Legal Wargamers  with their 28mm WW2 game set in Sicily in  1943 'A stroll in the sun'

Lee, Chris, David and myself
Blogger on and all.

Ged from Gringo 40's. I had a chat with Ged and his pal, I never realised Ged was a Kent lad living just up the road from me!!

"Winning a VC with the 6th Northants"

And this was there D-Day game.

This Colonial-era Sudan wargame titled "They Don't Like It Up 'Em" was presented by the Mad Dogs & Englishmen wargaming group

Burton & District Wargamers Modern played a Modern version of Chain of Command called                         Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures

Not sure who ran this game of The Full Nelson, it was in the Lardy Zone?

  3. Great range of pictures! Thanks for taking the time to come out to the gazebo ghetto - we had a very low footfall and didn't see a lot of our regulars. We're the Northamptonshire Battlefields Society - we aren't a Trust yet. You have the captions the wrong way round. The WW1 game was "Winning the VC with the 6th". The Northants in their various forms didn't win a VC in Normandy.

    2. apologies Graham, I went past your stand, into the main hall, and never got back - surprise surprise! Sadly this may have happened with quite a lot of others, too, hence your low footfall. Not sure that gazebo is exactly ideal, tbh.
