The Wild Bunch - Curt's 4th Annual Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge

Its nearly that time of year again, our Canadian friend Curt is going to try and surpass the last 3 challenges by having a mental 60 painters a painting! Last year he had a mere 47 challengers and got through a ton of Paracetamol and two keyboards, so it'll be lot together with 60 of us painting away!
Personally the last two Challenges were very successful, finishing 1st and 4th, but I'm afraid I'll definitely be finishing in the lower reaches this time around.
As some of you well know my and Fran's painting time has been dramatically slashed. I worked it out roughly, last year I was painting on average 48 hours per week, now with my new job its down to around 12 hours. So it'll be no top 10 for me, I think it'll be more like my number in the challenge....46! I did initially workout I'd get aroun 300 points done, but as a challenge I've doubled it to 600.....you never know and there certainly won't be any sandbagging either!!!!
I've been busy cleaning glueing and today will be the undercoating of quite a bit of my French NYW army. That'll be the start of my figures for the challenge, I've also got some 25mm figures still left over from the last challenge that didn't get started, so I'l l try and fit them in as well and my 12 French FIW figures for the Bloggers for Charity game.

Hhhhmmmmm?

  2. 600 points? Now I am really worried. I'm used to thousands from you. I keep on vacillating on how many points I should do and whether I should attempt to do some 54mm.

  4. I have no idea how James will find the time to reach 4500 points. Even your 600 sounds like a massive task. I had all my models for the Challenge out at the weekend and I'm thinking my megre target of 200 points looks a loooong way off!

  5. I forgot what I was going to say after I saw the last pic....

Oh yeah. I completely understand how a change of work/life situation can affect one's hobby time. No worries mate. With 50 points for each Theme Bonus you might be able to squeak a few more in there as well.

    1. The new jobs really dented my painting time but I'm looking forward to giving it my best shot, as long as I beat a certain person, that's what matters!!!

  7. I'd love to get in on this, but giving that I paint for a living (70-80 hours some weeks) it would hardy be fair.
