Just a quick.......ok quite long run down of the games at this years, Broadside in Sittingbourne.
I'll leave most of the pics of our game for another day, but here's a couple.
My favorite game and a lot of others was the quite spectacular
Shepway Wargames' "The Heart of Darkness"
The deconstruction of the Arab state in the Congo, 1892-94
Also the main pic above.
Just look at those trees!!
Well deserved winners of Game of the Show!
Crush the Kaiser - Testing a new WWI ruleset
East Street Games - Zombies
Gravesend Gamers Guild
Rainham Wargames Club - FIW
Friday Night Fire Fight - Hail Caesar
Think this was Crawley Wargames Club??
Although I'm not keen on the Fantasy side of gaming, both myself and Reject Richard were very impressed with this game and its terrain!
Deal Wargames Club? - Saving Private Ryan
Cool looking 54mm game!
Medway Gaming Society - Batman
Loved the Bat signal, it did actually light up, like the Gotham scREAMLAND sign, but
I couldn't wait around for the man himself to turn up.
The Society of Ancients - Troy
this game won the Best Painted figures award
Have a close look and you'll see why!!
SEEMS - Star Wars
This game had BigLee drooling down his T-Shirt!
Medway Wargames Club
Maidstone Wargames Club - James Bond
Sorry chaps there wasn't a lot going on when I took this pic
Skirmish Wargames - American Mexican Wars
Herne Bay Wargamers - Lion Rampant
Southend Wargames Club - Gunboat, Napoleonic Naval
All your pictures look GREAT!
ReplyDeleteThanks Whisk!
DeleteI loved them all but laughed the Bat Signal.
DeleteIt actually lit up, t'was very cool!
DeleteWhat a great selection of games. hope you had fun
ReplyDeleteOh I did Martin!
DeleteStar Wars!
ReplyDeleteWow, some elaborate setups. And a roller coaster in one of them. Impressive.
The Batman game did look pretty cool!
DeleteFantastic pics, the lot of them - the one with the giant trees is simply amazing!! Thanks for sharing :D
ReplyDeleteIt was a very impressive looking game.
DeleteWhat a vast array of games. Some beaut photos, thanks Ray.
ReplyDeleteNo probs James, glad you enjoyed them.
DeleteGreat looking games, Ray. I do like those tall trees for the Congo game. Of course, I have to love the Troy game too. All very, very interesting looking games.
ReplyDeleteThey were both excellent looking games Dean.
DeleteSome top notch games there Ray. I'm a sucker for Myceneans and these are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteGotta agree Nate!
DeleteNice pics of some great games Ray :)
ReplyDeleteSorry I couldn't make it down this year - I'm going to be away next weekend which meant I had to do some home stuff today :(
Shame, we kept looking out for you.
DeleteExcellent photos of some superb gaming. :)
ReplyDeleteI like that 54mm 'Saving Private Ryan', especially. I've been tempted to do modern/ultra-modern/ Twilight:2000 skirmish in 54mm/1-35th scale.
Thanks Anna, Twilight 2000, sounds different?
DeleteHi Ray, it was an old Role-Playing game from the 80s. :) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twilight_2000
DeletePretty much soldiers in the aftermath of World War 3, it's not the downer it must sound like. :) Lots of room for conversions, jury-rigged vehicles, and women as combat soldiers.
Good stuff... suprised you had the energy to do get these on Blogger so quickly. I haven't even downloaded my pictures let alone written review of the show.
ReplyDeleteI knew if I didn't get them sorted last night, I'd never get them done!
DeleteNice one Ray. Some excellent games there!
ReplyDeleteThanks Paul.
DeleteLooks like a great show.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing those pics.
No probs Stefan!
DeleteGreat report thanks for sharing Ray!
ReplyDeleteCheers Sander!
DeleteGorgeous! Splendid tables and great pictures, the Antic and Nap naval are my favotires, thanks for sharing Ray!
ReplyDeleteThe Naval game does look good, wish the ships were 15mm though, I'd have bought some myself.
DeleteI think you have a lot of better pics than I managed. But will put my scant few up soon. Nice to see you and he other rejects again. And I will admit that I did lik the look of Posties game.
ReplyDeleteWe were all pleased with the look of the game and with the interest it seemed to have got.
DeleteGreat photos Ray!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rodger!
DeleteI wonder if Mike (of Mike's random musings was part of the SEEMS game). Anyway, looks a good show. I hope you spent plenty and your loot haul was more than modest? ;)
ReplyDeletePossibly???? And my haul wasn't as big as i'd have liked it to be, just wasn't much there that I either needed or wanted? Ahhhh shame!!!
DeleteThanks for sharing dude!
ReplyDeleteNo probs Bob!
DeleteThanks for the pics. Some great display games on show :) A bit of everything :)
ReplyDeleteYeh, it was a mixed kinda show.
DeleteSome excellent looking game setups!
ReplyDeleteIndeedy Ken!
DeleteNice pics Ray! My favourites are Saving Private Ryan and the Star Wars game.
ReplyDeleteThey were 2 great looking games!
DeleteNow those are some excellent looking games! Your right those trees are awesome! The Trojon War was also a treat, I wonder what rules they used....
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Not too sure??? The game may be on at another show, I'll try and remember to ask.
DeleteModeling on a grand scale! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYep!
DeleteI really wish I'd had more time to spend at some of the game tables. The Congo game looked intriguing and I the rainforest trees were just super. How did your game(s) go. Everyone looked fully engrossed when I passed by to take a couple of snaps.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, I basically rushed around snapping all my pics in around 10 minutes!
DeleteFantastic pictures! Thanks for sharing Ray!
ReplyDeleteGreetings
Peter
No probs Peter!!
DeleteThanks for sharing Ray. That 54mm Saving Private Ryan game looked the business.
ReplyDeleteIt did look rather good!
Deletelove those little animals in the farm! Hope none of them got killed or roasted...
