Broadside 2015 - The Games

Just a quick.......ok quite long run down of the games at this years, Broadside in Sittingbourne.
I'll leave most of the pics of our game for another day, but here's a couple.

My favorite game and a lot of others was the quite spectacular
Shepway Wargames' "The Heart of Darkness"
The deconstruction of the Arab state in the Congo, 1892-94
Also the main pic above.

Just look at those trees!!
Well deserved winners of Game of the Show!

Crush the Kaiser - Testing a new WWI ruleset

East Street Games - Zombies

Gravesend Gamers Guild

Rainham Wargames Club - FIW

Friday Night Fire Fight - Hail Caesar

Think this was Crawley Wargames Club??
Although I'm not keen on the Fantasy side of gaming, both myself and Reject Richard were very impressed with this game and its terrain!

Deal Wargames Club? - Saving Private Ryan
Cool looking 54mm game!

Medway Gaming Society - Batman

Loved the Bat signal, it did actually light up, like the Gotham scREAMLAND sign, but
I couldn't wait around for the man himself to turn up.

The Society of Ancients - Troy
this game won the Best Painted figures award
Have a close look and you'll see why!!

SEEMS - Star Wars
This game had BigLee drooling down his T-Shirt!

Medway Wargames Club

Maidstone Wargames Club - James Bond
Sorry chaps there wasn't a lot going on when I took this pic

Skirmish Wargames - American Mexican Wars

Herne Bay Wargamers - Lion Rampant

Southend Wargames Club - Gunboat, Napoleonic Naval

  8. Excellent photos of some superb gaming. :)

I like that 54mm 'Saving Private Ryan', especially. I've been tempted to do modern/ultra-modern/ Twilight:2000 skirmish in 54mm/1-35th scale.

    1. Thanks Anna, Twilight 2000, sounds different?

    2. Hi Ray, it was an old Role-Playing game from the 80s. :) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twilight_2000

Pretty much soldiers in the aftermath of World War 3, it's not the downer it must sound like. :) Lots of room for conversions, jury-rigged vehicles, and women as combat soldiers.

  15. I wonder if Mike (of Mike's random musings was part of the SEEMS game). Anyway, looks a good show. I hope you spent plenty and your loot haul was more than modest? ;)

  21. I really wish I'd had more time to spend at some of the game tables. The Congo game looked intriguing and I the rainforest trees were just super. How did your game(s) go. Everyone looked fully engrossed when I passed by to take a couple of snaps.
