Posties Rejects will be putting on a demo game at this years Broadside Games Show on Saturday 4th June at Medway Park Sports Centre in Gillingham.
Its BigLee's turn to put on the game this time round, I've included 2 pics in the post to wet your whistle, without completely giving the game away.
The game is called " Beau Hunks" and features my favourite comedy duo!!
So hopefully we'll see you there?
If you need to find out anymore info on the show click the Facebook link, here!
That's cool you will have a demo game.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to it!
DeleteGot in on the calendar Ray, especially as it's just down the road I have no excuse! I'll come and say hello.
ReplyDeletePlease do Lee, it'll be great to gave a chat.
Delete"Beau Hunks" --- odd term even for Laurel and Hardy. I've heard it as "Bohunk", a rather demeaning American term from Central European immigrants, sort of a smash-up of Bohemian-Hungarian. In the context of the film, it's funny. Considering the time it was made, it's understandable. Not a term I'd use much today.
ReplyDeleteI do hope your game is fun!
Lee told us about the meaning of the term. I had no idea?
DeleteSince I was born in a coal-mining area of Pennsylvania, lots of Slavic folks moved in at one time. Many were unskilled workers in the mines and there was prejudice against them... from the earlier waves of immigrants! (Italian, Irish, etc.) I figure there were Cornish miners at first. (My family name is a Cornish one.) My maternal grandfather was a medical doctor and worked with all the immigrant families, most of whom had to have a translator there for his visits.
DeleteUntil I started reading about the film I wasn't aware of the origin of the name. Some things just don't age well, but title aside, Its a cracking short film (I love Laurel an Hardy and have done since I were a nipper).
DeleteThanks for sharing that John.
DeleteJust about anything with L&H is fine by me!
DeleteMe too Whisk!
DeleteGame looks excellent and I’m sure you will have a good day. Bit far for me.! Blotz do some nice pieces
ReplyDeleteA tad too far, agreed.
DeleteI will forward to reading all about it Ray....like Graham, Gillingham is a bit far for me too! 😊
ReplyDeleteYeah, a bit too far for an easy commute for me too!
DeleteHoping to be there, and will look out for you Rejects! BUT what day? Sunday 5th as per your heading, or Sat 4th as on the flyer? 😀
ReplyDeleteMy mistake, it's the 4th. Hopefully see you there.
DeleteHope it pans out well Ray. Looking forward to the writeup!
ReplyDeleteCheers Dai, fingers crossed.
DeleteLooks like a great event. Just don’t let the two beaus get into another fine mess…….
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure they will Mike!
DeleteSounds interesting. Stan Laurel was born just over the Cumbrian border from here in Ulverston where statues abound, for now anyway.
ReplyDeleteI do love a bit of Laurel and Hardy!
DeleteSounds like a fun day, unfortunately I don't think I can swing Partizan and Broadside, but good luck with it all!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Cheers Iain, some of us are going to Partizan, look out for us and say hello.
DeleteNo surprise, I'll be there! Looking forward to running the game this year.
ReplyDeleteShould be fun!
DeleteCool looking game - haven't seen the floor plan but we are doing a Battle of Britain participation game somewhere. See you there!
ReplyDeleteSounds good, see you there!
DeleteGreat looking FFL in the Desert game there, Ray! Best wishes on the convention.
