From Shed to Garage.......

I can't believe we've been in the new Cassa Rousell for a month now???
where the hell did that time go?
I'd done enough moving and opening boxes to have a little room to bring home all my wargaming goodies.

We've not had any games in Posties Shed because of all my err..........stuff!
Apart from the two chairs at the front everything else had to go.

There's a lot of stuff to move.

Good ol Postie, moving 2 boxes of my jungle terrain!

I'd bought the works van home for the weekend, to bring everything  to its new home..
I didn't want to stack everything to high, so it took three trips to move everything. Here's some of the gear in Posties back room.

And here it is magically transferred to its new home!!

The garage is split in two at the moment. The previous owner used this part as his office, the otherside of the white wall is another 7 foot of room. I've gotta wait for planning permission to change the garage door to a door and window, then I can take the studd wall down. Just dunno how long its gonna take??

And most importantly here we have a little work station set up, Nothing been painted yet, but I'll soon rectify that.......he says not in ear shot of Mrs R!!!!

So I need a name for my garage??

Ant suggestions?

    1. It was hard both being without all my stuff and bringing it to the new house Now I just gotta sort through everything again, because I don't know where it all is!

    2. To get my planning took two applications and £3000 and not an inch was changed once they got the money. I hope your council are more considerate.

  2. At the moment, it looks like The Hole.
I've watched the show Grand Designs often enough to know Brits need permits to sneeze. The regulations are crazy compared to here!

  3. One more little step towards getting your new man cave finished. It will take as long as it takes... but it will get done eventually. Looking forward to a game back in Posties shed at the weekend.

    1. Just noted its your garage (shed was Posties) but even so why do planners care as not for any commercial purpose ?

  7. I've moved house twice now with a hobby collection--and shifting the hobby pile turned out to be a move unto itself. Good on Postie for holding your stuff for you while you made ready for the second "move."

    1. That's exactly what it was, It took us all day to move it all.

  9. I've heard of 'The OPS Room'. 'The Bunker'. 'The Dungeon'. Loads of stuff like that. I'd go with something more personal.
    Harold. Or Garage McGarageface.
My choice would be Harold ... But then I like doing Albert Steptoe impersonations.

  12. Thanks Ray - I will be using these images as evidence to my wife that I don't really have that much "sh1t" in our garage! I am sure she won't be convinced by my argument, though!
How about "Rays Retreat" for the new gaming area (I could not think of an R word related to toy soldiers or warfare) although, on second thoughts, "retreat" may not be the best word to associate with miniature warriors...goes with throwing a 1 though!

  13. It looks like you are really getting things organised Ray. Planning permission sounds like it could be a protracted exercise though, and no doubt there will be a few fees and charges attached.

    1. Planning can be a pain on England. I'd like it all sorted before the autumn weather kicks in.

  15. Ray, all progress is progress (I read that on the back of a match-box, so it must be true). I always thought ‘The Cabin’ was a gentle enough name for such places, not enough to alarm the neighbours despite the presence of booze and dice, while still being inviting enough for all who avail.

    1. The Cabin maybe to much of a nice name for the Rejects! Lol

  22. Its moving forward Ray, so be encouraged! As to names...The Rolling Barrage, as in rolling/dice and garage/barrage? No? I'll get my coat...

  23. Yu can take down the studwork and worry about the door later surely? Looks nice and solid, good to hear your out of Posties anyway,Ray's gaming shed? Does what it says on the tin?

  24. A month, wow! That went far too quickly didn't it? Your sounds like it is gonna be superb. Just as well you bartered hard with Mrs R to ensure it was part of the criteria for the new place, hahahaha!
Pseudo military perhaps? Rejects Hut No. 2. Or, if Postie's place is Rejects HQ, perhaps Rejects HQ-ops, or perhaps Rejects HQ-southern command (or whichever direction you are). Yeah, a bit lame aren't they?!!
    Best wishes, James
