These two wagons are all the way from China via Temu, (once again, don't tell, the kids!)
They only cost a few quid for the pair, so can't be bad.
They are the same wagon, both carrying bails of hay. I didn't want the hay showing, to make them look like they're carrying boxes of some kind. So I cut the top layer off of one model and covered both with a piece of kitchen roll and painted it with several layers of PVA glue.
I'd ran out of MDF bases and didn't want to wait for an order, so used card instead to get that random kinda shape.
So there we have it, more terrain.

Excellent work. Great thinking with the kitchen roll and PVA.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to give it a try, seems to have worked well.
DeleteBrrr. You have really nailed the snow effect.
ReplyDeleteI got frostbite in my fingers, basing them up!
DeleteGreat work!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michal.
DeleteMore great Russian winter terrain Ray....a lot of your scatter pieces will be usable across different eras and geographical locations eg Crimean War, Great Northern War, Battle of the Bulge or WW2 Ost Front etc
ReplyDeleteYou can't have enough scatter for this period, that's for sure. The worlds our oyster for our next snowy period???
DeleteVery nice work Ray! You can never have too many wagons.
ReplyDeleteIndeed Bill, you really can't!
DeleteNice work Ray and some very clever modelling to get them looking like that, you have the snow effect done really well, lovely little pieces.
ReplyDeleteThanks Donnie, I'm glad you like them.
DeleteRay, great terrain. I am getting cold just looking at them!
ReplyDeleteMe too, Joe. I'm just pleased we don't et too much weather like this in SE England anymore!
DeleteExcellent work Ray
ReplyDeleteThanks Neil.
DeleteNext up storage wars ! - nice work Ray
ReplyDeleteYeh, that's gonna be the problem I foresee!!!
DeleteThese are going to come together and make a great table.
ReplyDeleteI do hope so, Lawrence!
DeleteQuite a collection you're building up Ray. Going to look brilliant when you get it all on the table.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping it does, Andy.
DeleteLovely pieces Ray, is it chilly in here?
ReplyDeleteA little, yes!
DeleteClever! Can't tell they were once carrying hay.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alex, its amazing what a little kitchen roll can do?
DeleteLooks just great Ray and frozen!
ReplyDeleteBrrr!
DeleteNice work Ray! Tin foil or wine bottle foil works really well for thick tarpaulin, a trick I learned from scale modellers many years ago.
ReplyDeleteHmm, might give that a go? I know Reject Richard used to make flags of Tomato Puree tubes back in the ay?
DeleteVery nice
ReplyDeleteThanks Sgt!
DeleteGrand additions to the terrain pile!
ReplyDeleteCheets David!
