There was a great turn out at the Bloggers Meet up, from L to R
Matt - Wargames in the Dungeon
Tamsin - Wargaming Girl
Chris - Horse & Musket Gaming
Stuart AKA Postie
Carl - Hitting on a Double 1
Reject Steve
Mike - The Words of Subedai
Me!
Andy - Major Ballsup's Hobby Shed
Steve - General Reeve
David - The Ragged Soldier
I usually get loads of pics of fellow Bloggers and friends of the Rejects, but sadly failed in most part in my duties this time round, but I did remember to take a few...
Lee, Alex Sotheran and me.
We did make it to Alex's talk at 2.45, but I think his mike was broke as we could hardly hear him, we certainly heard the other guests though, in fact they hurt my ears with all their screeching. Oh well....

Lee stopping for snacks and being caught!
I think I had a rather subdued Loot haul this time round
Plenty of freebies including the Salute figures a Dwarf smoking a pipe and an 1918 German. Some sabot bases from Products of Wargaming, some free Salute dice.
Four packs of Perry Minis, the 2 missing Sledges I needed, a Pontoon and a Donkey Cart with French wounded or exhausted, a few paints from Warlord. I couldn't find anyone selling Vallejo paints???
Lastly on the right just one of many sabot bases for trees for the Retreat from Moscow, especially made by our chums at Warbases, for both Lee and myself. Neither of us has much storage space, so we thought using these sabot bases should save a little space. All the holes are 70mm so we can also use them as terrain pieces, not just woods. Add a wrecked wagon, some large stones or something similar, to fill the table out.
And that belive it or not is it!

That was a large crowd of friends that met up.
ReplyDeleteAgain, you guys are lucky there are so many of those gaming conventions in your country. I've never seen one in my state.
We definitely are compared to you guys in the States.
DeleteGood to catch up with some other bloggers on the day, and a reasonable haul Ray. Iām carrying my Spanish back on the train as I type š
ReplyDeleteAh, you got them in the end after all?
DeleteAlways vicarious fun to see the blogger meetups at the UK shows. We don't seem to do that here in the US.
ReplyDeleteYou should do Ed. It's great to meet people face to face, after years of talking to them over the Internet.
DeleteI was quite amused that the Warlords planned a talk about sustainability in wargaming then gave a load of stuff away - perhaps the ticket price could be cheaper instead - the stuff probably ends up just sitting in a pile somewhere . Hey ho.. nice to see the blogger meet up - can we do one at Partizan perhaps . As for your stash Ray , must try harder !
ReplyDeleteGood idea about the Blogger meet up at Partizan, do you want to to organize it?
DeleteYeah , will give it a go
DeleteSweet!
DeleteNice to put faces to names and a modest but good haul of goodies, all looks good and useable.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, I didn't really need a great deal this time round, I'm sure that will change at the next show!
DeleteLooks great
ReplyDeleteCheers Martin!
DeleteGood to see you again, Ray! That is a pretty subdued loot haul for you...
ReplyDeleteIt is isn't it?
DeleteWhat a splendid turn out of the very best types š. Great meeting up with everyone again, one of my highlights of the show. That's a managable haul, very sensible of you!
ReplyDeleteFar too sensible Andy, usually I'm all over the place!
DeleteA great gathering of bloggers and quite the haul Ray. Looks like you had a great day.
ReplyDeleteYep, a tiring but great day out!
DeleteNot a bad haul of loot Ray, nobody had vallejo paints???
ReplyDeleteWell I didn't see any? I'm sure they were there?
DeleteNice to be able put a face to the name, so to speak, Ray! Your spending seems quite controlled ...... for once!
ReplyDeleteYeh???? Terrible eh?
DeleteCongratulations on finding the sledges. You keep reminding me that long ago I bought the Minifig sledges second hand. I really should get them painted but I guess that's true of a lot of other things too.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to your further progress on the 1812 project.
Stephen
Hmm? I didn't know that Minifigs made them? I'm looking forwards to getting a unit of sledges painted up now. I'm gonna have 4 in a unit, one's already done, so 3 to go!!
DeleteLooks like you had fun Ray and bagged some nice stuff.
ReplyDeleteT'was a great day out, George!
DeleteThat's a very restrained haul you have there. Unusually sensible of you. It must mean that you have loads more coming by post!
ReplyDeleteI was very careful for once Richard, this doesn't usually happen as you know???
DeleteNice!
ReplyDeleteIs that some Quar in the loot pile?
It is yes, the sprue was a freebie on entry to the show!
DeleteOh, Nice! They look super fun, but I just CANNOT get into ANOTHER thing at this point!
DeleteLOL, I know what you mean Tim!
DeleteVery moderate on the purchasing front, I've been far from that and have started three/okay four new napoleonic armies! Plus Samurai! Oh dear blogger meet up looks good sorry I missed it maybe at the other Partizan as I think I'll miss the next one ?!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Its a stupid thing to say, but I didn't actually need much??? Dave D's gonna organize a Blogger meet up at Partizan, hopefully, you can make that show in May?
