A few weeks ago, I purchased these wagons form Teemu, my eldest daughter told me off, as I shouldn't be ordering from these horrid people, (her words not mine)
Not sure, I'll use this one as it looks Medieval??
But all the others look like they'll make great cover for either the French or Russians in my and Lee's Retreat from Moscow project.

They are a tad big though, I guess they're not 25/28mm, but I'm still going to use them.
You can see the size difference better by the size of the horses! They're either a bigger size or just very well fed, I doubt its the later!!
So all in all a bargain purchase me thinks......just gotta dig them out from Posties shed when I can and give them a lick of paint. I've no idea when that's gonna happen though????
They look good Ray, particularly for four and a half quid! What's your daughter got against Temu - I think they are great! She does realise this stuff is made by a machine, not a ten-year-old, doesn't she?!
ReplyDeleteI have looked at getting some of these sort of carts too, but I hesitated as I thought they looked a bit on the big side - which you have confirmed. Be interested to see how they look painted and, on the table, next to your Perry infantry.....
My daughter says Temu have a bad track record on exploitation? All I know is the wagons cost £4.50 and are a bit big, I'll be using them a scatter terrain, so unusually, size won't matter!!
DeleteA bargain! I think the biggest issue people have with Temu is not getting what they ordered.
ReplyDeleteI've been lucky, so far?
DeleteI have not had an issue with them so far, either!
DeleteWooow! Looking really great! Fit well in medieval too.
ReplyDeleteIndeed they would.
DeleteNice looking. Perhaps Lee ought to do a vlog about ethical wargaming?
ReplyDeleteOh gawd, don't give him any ideas!
DeleteThat generally leads to hand wringing about colonial games! Having sat through "Zulu" in the Montrose cinema (now long closed) as a 10-year-old with the audience literally cheering as the South Wales Borderers wiped out swathes of charging oppressed native warriors, I don't have such qualms!
DeleteLee will post about anything for a comment and a view.
DeleteThey look very decent Ray, looking forward to seeing them painted up, Never ordered from Temu and not really heard much about the ethics of them either, but despite that I may have to take a gander!
ReplyDeleteIts worth a look.
DeleteGreat looking models, Ray. I've not heard of Teemu, looks sort of like Etsy?
ReplyDeleteIt's more like Alibaba or Shein (for clothes) Dean - very cheap stuff produced in China and (often) sent from there with free postage - economically, I don't see how it makes sense, but if I can get 50 scale model palm trees for $12 when 5 of them from FoW or similar would cost me $25 - I don't care about the economics of it!
DeleteSome of the stuff is very cheap, and like Keith said, I'm not sure how they make a profit?
DeleteThat Teemu app is annoying. So many "Buy this and you'll get more discounts" pop-ups... I barely got beyond the first few screens.
ReplyDeleteSaying that - those wagons look pretty good and for that price..... I might have to suffer the app one more time.
Looking forward to seeing these painted up and winterised!
Agreed the App is very annoying!
DeleteYou can't go wrong with these Ray, especially given the price. They look like nice models.
ReplyDeleteThey are, and with a lick of paint they'll look even better.
DeleteSize of the wagons won't matter when the difference is that slight. 😁
ReplyDeleteAgreed, its just gonna be something to hide behind.
DeleteAt that price, who could honestly resist?! But how they actually make money on printing them, or or do they simply use them as loss leaders to tempt you to buy more, who knows?
ReplyDeleteThey'yre not the best quality prints tbh, but for £4.50 I can't complain.
DeleteOoooh time to buy some for the ruined streets of Mordheim!
ReplyDeleteGo for it!
DeleteTemu are not great for all sorts of reasons - piracy been a big one (small companies (and some large) products are regularly copied and sold through temu) Their clothing uses cotton produced through Uyghur forced labour (they are also under investigation for other products produced there too including toys) Their practices of export avoid any import taxes, they regularly fail to comply with GB trading standards. Buying through temu is supporting all of those practices and putting businesses that comply with those rules (on labour and standards) out of business. There is always a reason something is much cheaper than similar products and generally its never a good reason. Looking forward to seeing a snow covered board soon.
ReplyDeleteAh, I can see why my daughter Emily was a bit peeved, thanks for the heads up Rupert.
