Seems I jumped forward in time to 2014 for the last SELWG post, this one is definitely set in 2013????
Crawley Wargames Club - Fraustadt 1706 Great Northern War
I mentioned in my last post that I had two favourite games from the show, this is the second one.
Its from my favourite era of warfare, The Lace Wars.
I just love the mass effect you can make with 15mm, great looking figures and excellent snowy terrain to boot!
Gravesend Wargames Club - War & Conquest
GLC Games - The Battle of Steenkirke
Dulwich Gamers - Clash at Croydon Airport
Shepway Wargames Club - Wagons Roll, Nobovidy January 1422
Crush the Kaiser - The Miracle of the Marne
Deal Wargames Club - Sunset over Shumshu
Newbury & Reading - Warlords of the 15th Century
North London Wargames Group - Save the Bridge
Peter Pig - Vikings
I saw the 15mm light as well last year, like the effects indeed for 'masses for your bucks'. It susequently left me without a gaming group and club as they are all 28mm adepts but heck.
ReplyDeleteGreat piccies up there though!
25mm is expensive and seems to be getting so even more.
DeleteMore great photo's....somehow I missed that Peter Pig/Viking game altogether! are you sure that was this year? LoL.
ReplyDeleteNope it could have been next year??
DeleteAnother very nice selection of games from the day. Nice one Ray.
ReplyDeleteCheers Clint!
DeleteThat Steenkirke game is mouth watering... is that Barry Hilton/Under the Lily Banners with GLC?
ReplyDeleteIt was rather nice looking, and no he's not, they were using his flags though.
DeleteThe ones with the snow are nice! Dead troops must look great on snow.
ReplyDeleteIts a great effect for sure!
DeleteGood report. Those are some really good looking games.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mike.
DeleteFantastic, some beautiful pictures, battlefiels are really excellent!
ReplyDeleteThere were some exceptional games at the show this year!
DeleteGreat report yet again Ray. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteNo probs Sander.
DeleteSo many beautiful wargame tables...I' m envious ;-)
ReplyDeleteMarzio.
Me too!
Deletethere were definitely good games at the show. Sad, oh sad I couldn't go
ReplyDeleteThere's always next year Seb?
DeleteGood grief!
ReplyDeleteShut it Ginge!
DeleteYet more fantastic looking games!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Yep!
Deletethose Roman legions are absolutely amazing and stunning!
ReplyDeleteThat they are Dez!
DeleteI see why this was split into two posts now. I'd forgotten all the pictures!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't put them all on one post, there would have been a riot!
DeleteMany fine looking games. Great photos too!
ReplyDeleteCheers Jonathan.
DeleteNicely done Ray. It all seems a treat mate.
ReplyDelete:0)
DeleteVery good work Ray! Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteThe two Lace Wars games are very droolworthy indeed !
ReplyDeleteSome great looking games on display. It was nice to see a GNW game with the Saxons involved, too many people concentrate of Swede vs russians
ReplyDeleteI like the lace wars winter board the best!
ReplyDeleteThere is something to a period filled with colorful banners and uniforms and also to tactics being more into medieval tactics! Plus who doesn't like WSS and the 3 musketeers!
Being a footslogger myself, I can almost feel the crisp air and semi frozen fridged mud !
Brrr! ;)
Nice pictures Ray looked like you had a good time
ReplyDeleteWelcome back in 2013 Ray! :-D Nice pictures from the show. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGreetings
Peter
Some great looking games which your camera has done an excellent job in showing.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Pat.
*sigh* Another great con I couldn't make it too. Don't suppose you could tell me who makes the 15mm Romans that the Gravesend club was using?
