Battle Chronicle - The Retreat from Moscow is complete and went to the printers a few days ago, so hopefully it'll be on sale in a few weeks time.
A few weeks ago, Paul from Pazoot had a chat with Leon from Pendraken about making up some Battle Chronicle army packs, using their figure range. A week later a complete army dropped through my letterbox....and here it is!
French Infantry x 15
Civilians x 6
French Cavalry
Chasseurs a Cheval Lancers x 6
Russian Infantry x 12
Russian Jagers x 12
Russian Cossacks x 12
I bought the buildings as extra's from Pendraken and from ebay, as well as some fences, but I forgot to take a pic of those.
So if you fancy the rules, but don't want to invest the time and money into 25mm figures, you could go for the easier 10mm option from Pendraken?
The choice is yours???

DeleteI think 10mm is a great compromise between detail and being able to quickly amass an army. I have bought ACW from Kallistra in this scale and am thinking about the Crimea, when and if time allows.
ReplyDeleteSmall scale is the way to go Lawrence. I'd love to do more in 25mm, but can't afford it! Let alone all the storage space you'd need.

ReplyDeleteI had considered 10mm but totaling up the packs required made it a bit expensive but specific army packs would be very doable.
Yeh, I'm not sure what the pack will cost, but at least you wouldn't have bags of useless figures hanging around?

DeleteClever bit of marketing from your mate Paul - he might shift a few sets of his rules, combined with the 10mm figures - he could try Peter Pig for 15mm next - they must have every figure required in their ranges!

DeleteHaha must be nice to just have a painted army ready to go, 10 mm is an interesting scale, I’ve only seen 15 mm and 6 mm, not that in between.

DeleteReally nice Ray, I like those a lot. I often think if I was starting out nowadays I'd do everything in 10mm. It offers a bit more than 6mm for the painter, but is small enough to build some big collections for some bigger battles even if you have limited storage and playing space and funds. And Pendraken do such a comprehensive range.
