The Other Partizan 2023 Part 1

 

Four Rejects took the long trip up country to visit The Other Partizan last Sunday.

It was a long drive, made better by a stop off, for a rather tasty breakfast, cheers Postie!

Here we are in the queue, Me, Steve, Dave and Postie

We arrived in great time and was very near the front of the queue.

Barry Hilton/League of Augsburg - Rolling Thunder

Barry was showcasing his new set of rules Rolling Thunder, which are a take on his Mad For War rules, but use smaller ships, based on large bases in their squadrons.

I played a small part in the game near the end of the day and enjoyed every minute.

I did have a pop at Barry though, the Rejects have just spent out on his Ark Royal ships and now he's gone even smaller. I can feel the hole in my wallet getting bigger and bigger and bigger.......

The game was Day 1 of the Four Days Battle in 1666.

The ships are all from Tumbling Dice, but Barry will be releases his own range very very soon!!

The Other Partizan 2023 - Who's going?

 

Four Rejects, Postie, Steve, Dave and myself will be hightailing up north (nose bleed alert!) early Sunday morning, to visit The Other Partizan at the Newark Showground.

Poor BigLee can't make it due to his dodgy leg and Richard is giving it a miss this time round.

Hopefully we'll all be in our red tshirts, so if you see us, please stop and say hi.

There's always loads to see and drool over I'm looking forward to seeing Barry Hilton's new Rolling Thunder rules in action and picking up some ratlines for my ships and loads of bases Martin & Co at Warbases, for my Mad For War project.  Hopefully there'll be something else there that catches my eye as well????

Almansa 1707 - 2mm Spanish Chuch

My painting has slowed down recently, but I did manage to get this wonderful Brigade Models Mediterranean Church finished.

Its quite big as you can see by the pics, so its probably more a Cathedral size?

It was too big to go on the 40x40 town bases, so I thought I'd make a feature of it. Giving it walls and a graveyard.

Which are all made from card!

And can come out, if you wanna place a stand of troops in the area.

The gravestones are a little large for 2mm. I did try to cut them smaller, but it just didn't look right, so I stuck with the over sized gravestones and tombs. Which I think was the better idea.
