3 or is it 6??? reasons why we go to Wargame shows.
1. Is for to pick up that big order from Gripping Beast, that you placed online last week?
2. Is it to compete in a Flames of War tournament?
3. Is it because you need to see the new releases from your favourite companies?
4. Is it just a day out for the boys?
5. Is it to get 5 minutes peace from the Mrs and kids?
OR
6. Is it see see the lovely ladies below???
I had to include the last picture, I've blacked out the ladies face, I hope she doesn't see it, whoever she is?
And I'll leave it at that..........
Both the photo's were taken at Salute this year, By Joe Dever.
That's a lovely picture of Miniature Wargames Magazine....
ReplyDeleteI hope Miniature Wargames are going to be at Claymore!!!
That is certainly some impressive looking scenery. What game were they playing?

ReplyDeleteI live in the wrong country...
ReplyDelete#6.
ReplyDelete:)
those ladies go there because they love miniatures!
ReplyDeleteNot that I *needed* another reason to go to a gaming convention, but hey... :)
ReplyDeleteI was gonna say 4 or 5 but .........
ReplyDeleteI think Miniature Wargames are going the hard sell :O))))
ReplyDeleteDarrell.
That's the proper reason mate!! :-)
ReplyDeleteT.
Since we don't really have ladies at French conventions (well sometimes but I never see them)I'd say n°4 & 5 (sorry honey)
ReplyDeletedefinitely 6
ReplyDeleteI'm telling your missus.
ReplyDeleteА у меня супруга играет.Так что ничего удивительного нет.
ReplyDeleteI had to think long and hard about my comment above before typing ;O)))))
ReplyDeleteDarrell.
Man alive, if you have to go to a wargames show to see women, then you do need to get out much much more Ray.
ReplyDeleteMind you, seeing the odd one or two ladies at the show does make a change from middle aged toy playing chaps.
i like the ladies ;)
ReplyDeleteI likes them too, yes I do!
ReplyDeleteThe problem with most fine ladies at shows, is usually they are there with somebody...
@Sebastofigs : +1
ReplyDeleteWas anyone at partizan a few years back when the girlies were in full suspenders and selling some vampire RPG game...funny looks from some sad lonely geek types..or was it fear!LOL
ReplyDeleteI always wait till salute to get my MW just to give some sad old man chat to the girls selling it in the queue..it's a hobby!
Those are odd sunglasses that women is wearing
ReplyDeleteCheers
paul
That lady with the blacked out eyes has nothing miniature about her rack woo hoo!
ReplyDeleteall sexist comments!
ReplyDeleteMind you there are some very appealing fraulein at the Hamberg show :) :)
Those are the only 3 women seen at Warhgame shows ever.
ReplyDeleteKnockers on a table. I knew that was the reason.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the real girl to guy ratio there? :P
ReplyDeleteDidn't know there where this kind of shows here in the UK too.
ReplyDeleteVisit my blog here
It's obvious that those troops in the second photo are being moved to defend a mountain pass - a sound strategy
ReplyDeleteThe ratio is 1 women to 1429 men, give or take.
ReplyDeletecute chicks are a good reason for me ;)
ReplyDeleteim in!
I didn't know women went to gaming, err, um, well anything! At least in the states I should guess by these lovely's lol. BTW Nice terrain... ;-)
ReplyDeleteCheers.

ReplyDeletei am still looking at this one
ReplyDeleteThat's a kind of scenary I love... wargaming scenary of course!
ReplyDeleteI did on several occasions see a very nice looking Thai lady at a number of shows in the North of England (with her partner/boyfriend) and of course there are sometimes some RPG re-enactors in costumes that might scare off some of the geekier gamers. I've taken my wife who paints to shows but stopped that once the "look how much those are, why do you need more" started - much easier to sneak them in from the car and say you had them for years or that you got them on the bring and buy
ReplyDeleteLol! That's why I never take my Mrs, easier to hid your goodies then get them out later, when she's not looking. Just like she does with all them clothes and shoe's!!!
DeleteI remember those girls at Partizan years ago, standing near the Fire Exit. I thought it was the local lapdancing club touting for trade!! I don't recall seeing any promotional stuff about a RPG, apart from those flyers they were clutching, but not handing out.I know I had to go back a couple of times as I'd forgotten to look at certain games and stands in the Rotunda.;-)) Thats my excuse anyway.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, pics and feedback! I now have my laughs for the day.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see women at gaming events. We have one member in our club who is a lad of 19 and he brings his girlfriend to the games to share a command. I couldn't help but notice that with her there, we have twice as many "visitors" to our table as normal. I wonder why?
How the hell could you concentrate on the game with that lovely lady sitting across from you, I would claim a foul; actually 2 of them.
ReplyDeleteThe Knockers on the table is why you never use foam board terrain at cons...unless your needing some valleys really quick...)
