Rousell v O'Leary The Big One!

The day has finally arrived, back at the beginning of last month, that loud mouthed Irish Women Anne O'Leary, challenged me, yes me to a painting dual!! here
How could I refuse her dulcet tones, firstly the chance to compete with a person who has only painted 10 figures before, gives me a great chance of a win ha ha! and secondly this is a chance for Mankind to finally prove that we, us men, are far superior to the women folk of the world!! he he!! Is this comment gonna get me in trouble.....yes! Will this lose votes for my mouse....probably!!!
So if you'd like to vote on who's is the best painted figure, click this link here, Anne's posted a poll on her blog for you all to vote.
Anne banging on about "I've got no chance winning this challenge, blah, blah blah" Its all a cunning plan I realise and I said to Fran, before a lick of paint touched the mouse that I've as much chance of winning this as winning the lottery!
So which figure is the best, the Mouse Mage or the Mouse Witch??

Its up to you to decide.........

The Mouse Mage

The Mouse Witch

  2. You're in big trouble Ray! Men superior to us womenfolk? Pah!

They're both great figures, congrats to both of you on such excellent paintjobs. I have no idea which was painted by whom, so I voted for the one I liked best.

    2. You're right Rousell, you're toast. I hope the missus sees your horrible slander against women. You should have to spend a week sleeping on the couch for this!

  8. Ha! Good luck! I just voted and it's all tied up so far!! Probably appropriate since it took me a little while to choose which one. :-)

If it ends in a tie I think you both should have to paint something up for Fran and he gets to choose since you both would have lost. :-D

Regardless, great job on both minis!

  10. As I wrote on Annes's blog both mice are painted very well and looks great. Every figure shows her own character. But the real winners of the competionen are the followers. We can see two beautiful painted figures.

Gettin' rather deep in here, in't it?
In any event, I vote for you, Ray! The Witch had colours that don't exist in nature.

  12. I'm gonna have to give this a lot of thought -- they both look really great. Are you sure Anne was telling the truth when she said she'd only painted 10 figures before? Looks like her brush is more talented than that. She may have been hustling you there. :)

  13. Yep both are good, I found it difficult to choose as I like bits more about one then the other then something else from the other strikes me as better, but after a tough thinking it be the witch by a hair (or rabbit)

  20. Wow this is going to be a tough one.

Got to say both are excellent - Ray, you'll definitely be painting more fantasy figures if the mouse is anything to go by

  21. What an incredible result on both, clearly much blood, sweat and tears have been spilt in their realisation. Well done to both of you!

  24. You're a right bloody bastard Rouseell! Here I am, being genuinely nice to a git like you and you accuse me of subterfuge. You've doomed yourself Ray, doooooomed I say!

  25. I've voted.
They're both good in their own ways, it was a tough call as there were parts of each composition, that I liked over the other model...

  26. Both are fantastically painted; but I think I'll go for the mage - the stars on the hat help. Although the broom bristles are also a nice touch on the witch. Very close indeed. Best to both of you, Dean

  27. Both are great, but I'm drawn to the witch much like real life *Hides from wife!*

  28. Really? we must vote ?? how could we do that???
both of the figures are awesome!
    it's a torture!
    congrats to the painters!
I'm completely stunned with the quality of the work... and when I think that Anne is a beginner... incredible!

  29. My vote is in! They both look great however. Anne's lack of painting experience is not evident at all, you might be in trouble here Ray. Good luck, you might need it!
