Salute Loot 2014

My haul from yesterdays Salute was a little larger than it was supposed to be!
There were a few unexpected buys and a few disappointments as well!
I was mainly interested in civilian type figures for Donnybrook and that's what I came away with.

Met up with quite a few fellow Bloggers, which was pretty cool. I stupidly didn't take any pics, but Carl from Hitting with a Double one did, so I'll pinch his pic when he posts it up.

I'll be posting my pics form the show soon....

Impulse buy No1
A Naked lady having a bath, from Col Bill's Depot Battalion figures.
Not quite sure why I bought it and how I'll fit it into a scenario, but hey its boobies!

Impulse buy No2
Once again, not sure why?? But every skirmish game should have a hidden snake shouldn't it??

It looked like Warbases were doing well, it took me a while to fight through the crowd and have a look at their new animal figures. Had a quick chat with Martin and Spider Loki. and I bought a selection of the Cows, sheep, dogs and goats for Tangiers as well as  a Hay, Hand and Turnip cart, not forgetting a couple of wheelbarrows!

Impulse buy No3
More Depot Battalion figures from Col Bill
A preacher and the preached upon.

The biggest amount of dosh went to Redout Minis.....loads of Civilians from their ECW and Three Musketeers ranges! Nom nom!

I also hit Dixon Miniatures, for a bag of dead figures, a Pioneer and an artillery set.

Impulse buy No4
Another Pioneer set this time form Reiver Castings and some Scottish civilians form their
Border Reiver range. I've also got a few bits and bobs coming in the post that they didn't have with them. More dead figures, (just how many of these do I need??) and some tools

Impulse buy No 5
A selection off civilian figures from Midlam Miniatures. I'd not heard of these before, but they sold a few Arab looking civvis which of course I need. But I loved the torches they sold the most!!

The Governor and his Daughter from Black Scorpion and a bar room brawl scene from Dixons

I also bought 2 packs of dead and wounded from Warfare Minis and had a chat with League of Augsberger's Barry, Toggy and Gerry.

2 pack of Civilians from SHQ & some Dogs from Crooked Dice!
Lastly loads of dice!!

Now I've just gotta paint the buggers! But I suppose I should paint the actual figures
that'll be doing the fighting first??

Oh well!

  2. A great haul Ray, those Warbases animals are a nice grab, but since I'm a huge fan of Redoubt I'd have to give that pick up the highest marks.:-)

  3. You said you spent quite a bit but wow, that is a haul and a half!
And I thought I was gonna be busy for a while.

  4. He he! I'm not actually sure how much I spent, I'm too frightened to add it all up! And it gonna take me quite a bit of time to get them painted!!

  5. Crikey mate thats a lot o lead! I bet you sneaked it home via Posties house to hide it from the missus didn't you?!?

Damn miffed I couldn't make the show now. It looks like you had a great days shopping. In fact looking over a few other blogs it looks like everyone had a good days shopping! Me, I spent most of the day on the Motorway returning from Dorset and then a couple of wasted and overpriced hours at Chartwell - Winston Chrichills home - being told off by stuck up old biddies from National Trust....more on that in a few days! Sounds like you had the batter day by far!

  6. Nice one mate. You probably won't need that many dead and wounded, BUT Big Lee might! Some nice interesting stuff there. I shall look for that Wolf hound figure when I can summon the courage!

  7. In my opinion, you can never have too many corpses or civilians. I wish you luck in painting that lot, Ray.

  19. That's probably themost impressive haul I've seen to date - you're goingto be very busy chappy in the coming weeks (months ?).

  20. Nice loot haul Ray - with that much spending, maybe you've taken over the title of "Rich Reject" from Lee! :)

    1. Ray and Postie are the archetype 'rish rejects'...between them they reguarly spend the cash equivelent of a small nations GDP! I'm just glad to be around to play with all the goodies they buy once they have them painted.

    2. There is only 1 Rish (should be Rich) Reject and we all know that's tye Big Man himself!

  21. The main problem I'm finding with everyones's loot posts is I keep seeing things I wish I'd bought now!

  34. I am rubbish at Salute shopping.

    Last year I spent £31.00 - http://scrivsland.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/you-spent-how-much-at-salute.html
    This year I spent £34.00 - http://scrivsland.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/the-salute-haul.html

Maybe I need to spend lest time on the games and more time with my hand in my pocket!
