SELWG 2017

Better late than never

Here's my take on SELWG 2017......

I've always loved SELWG, ever since getting into the daft hobby of ours many moons ago. I'm sorry to say that the show seemed to have slipped in the past few years IMHO, but this year I'm extremely happy to say it was back to its very best!

Yes there were a few traders and games missing, but it was still a crackin' show!

The standard of games were excellent and most were historical for a change!!!

Well that was a first... me and Postie were the first to arrive!

And Postie still managed to push in!

My favourite game of the show went to Gravesend Wargames Club's  WWII game, Taking the Pissoir

SELWG Swag

Just a quick post today, I'll hopefully get a SELWG post up in the next few days. but

 here's my swag. For the first time in years I bought something from the Bring & Buy. 

Some 25mm tents and 15mm defensive terrain pieces.

20 odd ECW figures from Redoubt minis, 4 packs of ECW 

figures from Empress, 2 packs from Bicorne and a poor chap with his head 

chopped off being roasted on a spit!!

Yeah I know!

Warfare Miniatures - Dismounted Dragoon horses NEW

I wanted some horses for my dismounted French Dragoons, so I emailed Barry Hilton at Warfare Miniatures to see if he had anything suitable. After a brief chat online a parcel arrived in the post containing 4 horses from the new yet to be released pack of horses!!!
I'm very privileged to be the first person to have them!

The plan was to get them painted up asap, but we're in the middle of decorating at the moment, so i persuaded Postie to volunteer and paint them up for me and what a spiffing paintjob he made of them too!

I'm not sure when they'll be on sale from, but look out for them soon.

They are going to be sold with a holder, but mine comes from the Dragoon command
