Its been a little quiet over the last few weeks on Don't Throw a 1, life has just got the way as it does, but that doesn't mean I've been idle.
I saw this beautiful model of a medieval grainstore, from Debris of War and just wanted it!
I'm not dipping my toes into anything medieval, but thought it looked pretty cool and would fit in anywhere in my Donnybrook world.
As I already said the Grainstore is made by Debris of War, go check out their site, I've said it before but they do make some fab stuff!
Here's a link to the grainstore. Its a bargain at £12
As its a Medieval store and I want to use it in the late 1600's, I painted up the building using varies shades of grey, and a black and brown wash, to try and give the effect of old dry wood.
So get along to Debris of War and get yourself a luvvly looking grainstore!
Very nicely done Ray. Your painting technique has definitely produced an excellent finished article.

ReplyDelete...do you have shares in Debris of War? You must have recommended we all buy something about three times in a single post!! 😀
You'd think so wouldn't you? Think I need a chat with Andrew,
DeleteYou fellas have been quiet, indeed! Nice work on the granary.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jon, we still are mighty quiet at the moment.

DeleteAnthony makes some great stuff, doesn't he. Love his modern stuff, just fills out my zombie boards beautifully
ReplyDeleteHe certainly does!
DeleteOh marvellous paint-job, Ray, and thanks very much indeed for the link. Both the grainstore and a few of the other buildings would be awesome for my Silver Bayonet tabletop. Plus they're apparently going to be at Colours in a couple of weeks, so I've added them to my list of stalls to definitely seek out.
ReplyDeleteMight see you there Simon. Nit too sure we can make it yet?
DeleteA very handy piece of terrain and a lovely job you have made of it, super little building.
ReplyDeleteThanks Donnie.

ReplyDeleteIt should be very useful.
All the best. Aly
For many a period.
DeleteIt's a very nice piece and having it in two pieces is a good option. All you need now are a couple of rats under it.
ReplyDeleteThere's plenty of rats in the Shed o War.
DeleteThat's a cracking piece of kit Ray.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Stu
Cheers Stu.
DeleteA great addition Ray
ReplyDeleteThanks Dave.
DeleteSplendid looking grainstore, are you sure we can't tempt you into late medieval, just a little bit?
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Nope!
DeleteNice work Ray - I've got Debris of War bookmarked for once I've got some spending cash again!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a plan, Bill.
DeleteI had never heard of this vendor before. I just followed your link and they have some cool stuff (I like the 1/300 coastal range).
ReplyDeleteOn a separate note, would it be possible to get copies of your flags for the government regiments at Killiecrankie? I'm painting up my 6mm armies and can't find any decent flags. Thanks!
Gee Ray, you even make a simple grain store look like a work of art!
ReplyDeleteRegards, James
