Very nice image, although I have never been a soldier myself, Armistice Day has always been important to me and all Newfoundlanders.
A generation of Newfoundlanders was wiped out in a single battle on July 1, 1916 and it is on this day and on July 1st (Memorial Day in Newfoundland) all Newfoundlanders remember them and all other who have died in wars.
Well done Ray. Strangely in France, though we celebrate the victory and mourn the dead, it's not like here in the UK at all. As if we were ashamed of the sacrifice
In November 2009, in Kabul, I knew a lot of British soldiers and they explained me the reason of this flower and the Remembrance Day. They have all my simpathies and respect.
Absolutely.
