I took my two youngest brats to the Science Museum in London a couple of weeks ago, they both seemed to enjoy them selves, so did I. I took a few snaps of some of the planes and thought I'd share them with your good selves!!
30 minutes to go and I'm off round Posties for a game of Ancients, with the rest of the Rejects, hopefully a report will follow, its Assyrians v Neo Hittites, fingers crossed Fran's on the other side so I can kick his big hairy ginger butt!!!!!!
Not at all sure what plane this is, can anyone help???
A Spitfire and Hurricane
Obviously German but????
Gloucester Meteor
Nice photos Ray. Good luck at the game.
ReplyDeleteThose spitfires, just amazing to see so many!
ReplyDeleteMust have been a great day!
Pretty sure that Jerry kite is a Me 163 Komet - the first rocket (not jet) powered aircraft. We have one here at the Australian National War Memorial too.
ReplyDeletebig hairy ginger butt!!!!!! I would have thought you would try to keep away from that.
ReplyDeletelooks like a great day out at the Science Museum though.
Great pictures! We went to the Detroit Science Center (right before they "temporarily" closed it down) and saw the rockets they used in the early space program - amazing. Its like you know they are big, but you just don't realize how big until you are standing right in front of one!!
ReplyDeleteThis one is a wonderful Museum, I liked it a lot when I visited it.
ReplyDeleteLooks cool. That rocket in the first pic makes we wanna make a model for my KKBB games
ReplyDeleteVery nice planes and really like the Bi-plane!

The rockets go up, where they come down, that's not my department says Verner Von Braun.
ReplyDeleteNo idea what the plane is, but have fun gaming today. And remember to bring the honey for the chips.
ReplyDeleteNice pics thanks! Have fun at the game.

Reminds me of my brothers bedroom. We'd build model planes then hang them from the ceiling. I'm not sure what I'm most excited about, reading the post about today's game, or finding out what Angry says when he reads this post.
ReplyDeleteThe biplane is an Avro 504K.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking aircraft. Would love to visit there!
ReplyDeletespitfires were nice planes, so classy looking
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourite museums, great painting collection too.
ReplyDeletethey all look awesome!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great place to visit,
ReplyDeleteAlways wanted to see a V2 up close and personal. I take it this is 1 from operation backfire, or maybe just painted like it?
Cool planes too
Cheers
Paul
Great pictures Ray. Its been a few years since I last visited the Science Museum, I'll have to rectify that soon! Looking forward to your write up of yesterdays game...do try to keep the expletives to a minimum!!
