I think I did rather well over Christmas?
13 packs of Trent Miniatures with a few packs of spare heads!!
These of course are for my Haitian Revolution adventure, the plan is to get these painted up during
the Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge? Fingers crossed!!
There are a few British Cavalry units, which look very different to the ones you'd expect, can't wait to get them painted up.
My only other wargaming esq pressie was Every Bullet Has Its Billet by Barry Hilton, from
Helion & Company. I've only had a quick flick at the moment, but very much like what I see!
One thing I will say though, I was pleasantly surprised by its size, its not the normal Osprey sized Helion book we've all come to now and love, but its more magazine sized, which helps my ever dodgy eyes. no end!
Respectable Christmas haul indeed, Ray!
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
DeleteWell, my Christmas gifts to myself are still in the mail. I've ordered the book, but it will be a while before I see it.
ReplyDeleteAre you planning on playing Donnybrook at Sea or the Mad for War? Both should work with your Haitian adventure.
I am yes, but I've not bought the rules yet.................
DeleteHappy New Year Ray. Barry's book is very good indeed. Lots of good info' inside and bonny pics too.
ReplyDeleteGotta agree with you there OB.
DeleteRay,
ReplyDeleteYou were definitely not on Santa's naughty list.
Neil
Not yet.........
DeleteNice haul Ray... Can't get enough of the spare heads.... there was a rumour that Trent were releasing a couple of "Pike" packs for the slavers but have not heard much more on that have you?
ReplyDeleteCheers
Stu
Oooo not heard anything about that? But I'm sure I'll be getting the wallet out.
DeleteA far better haul than what I got. Look forward to seeing you progress on these
ReplyDeleteMe too Neil.
DeleteGreat Christmas haul, Ray. Not periods I know much about so I look forward to seeing how they paint up. Good luck with the AHPC too :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Simon!
DeleteGreat haul mate - HNY to you :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd to you Sir!
DeleteWow, that is a lot of figures! Should keep you busy for a while.
ReplyDeleteI think they will Alex.

ReplyDeleteI see Boris has you in another lock down - hopefully more time for painting!
Be safe

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! and not a pair of socks in sight!
DeleteGoing to be busy Ray, lockdown lovelyness.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to it George.
DeleteNice haul, but I bet you're jealous of the socks, slippers and deoderants I got !
ReplyDeleteOf course I am Joe ;0)
DeleteHurrah for new toys Ray...
ReplyDeleteMy generosity to myself should be arriving over the next couple of weeks...
All the best. Aly
Sounds good to me Aly!
DeleteVery nice Ray. I didn't realise those rules were bu Barry Hilton. Definitely worth a look, then.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely, but they're not rules, they more of a guide to the history and gaming the period. Well worth it to be totally honest.
DeleteA good haul.
ReplyDeleteI agree totally!
DeleteNice haul mate
ReplyDeleteCheers Carl.
DeleteMuch better than a pair of slippers.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for 2021
Amen! Have a great 2021 Pat!
DeleteEither you just bought yourself a pile of stuff you wanted and disguised it as a Christmas present, or you have your family very well trained! I managed a couple of birthday/Christmas presents where my wife and kids followed my "suggestions" but they have reverted to ignoring me and just buying what they want...
ReplyDeleteAfter many years of pants, socks and other tosh, they all finally listened! I even wrote a wish list for them.
DeleteTrouble is, now Ive got to buy the rest of the list!!!
