AHPC11 - Haitian Revolution - York Hussar Colonel

This Trent Miniature French Commander came in my first French force I picked up second hand from Col Bill. He is a representation of General Humbert click. But he closely follows the same uniform of my previously posted unit. The York Hussars, see below.

The figures is a tad smaller than the other Trent minis I bought, but hey ho, everyone's not the
same size are they?

This chap has no name, so I give it to you luvvly lot, give me a suitable Anglo-Germanic name for him?

It took all my brainpower to work out that this fine looking chap earned me 10 points in the Challenge!

AHPC11 - In Hoc Signo Vinces

Or "In this sign thou shalt conquer"

In February's edition of  Wargames Illustrated Barry Hilton of League of Augsberg/Donnybrook and Warfare Miniatures fame wrote an article "In Hoc Signo Vinces" where he revisits the Battle of Aughrim in 1691. Eighty member of the Catholic clergy were killed during the battle, they were all attached to Jacobite regiments providing encouragement to the units.
He goes on to say that
"If 80 were killed it is safe to assume that as many survived the slaughter after the route began, in which casualties ran as high as 25%. Losses amongst Officers and leaders were always proportionately higher in battle and General and field Officer casualties were particularly steep at Aughrim ".
If those ran at 33%, not an unreasonable estimate, up to 250 Clerics may have been present on the battlefield, that's as many as 6 to 10 per regiment"
So I dug through my box of despair and found these 7 figures from various companies to represent some of the 250.

North Star (Bishop of Munster), North Star and Front Rank (with a head swap)

Redoubt, dunno?, Col Bills and Front Rank

I do already have a selection of Clergy that I've previously painted up, so I'll add these to the pile if I ever get to do the scenario. The Scenario is actual for Beneath the Lilly Banners rules, But its easy to convert it over to Donnybrook.

Rear view!

Out of the mag, what you can expect if there are Clergy attached to a unit.
Its not gonna be fun for the Williamites!!

the 7 figures will provide me with 40 points

AHPC11 - Ottoman Champions Warfare Miniatures

Sorry dear readers but I'm gonna have to put Capcha up for a while, I'm getting inundated with twats spamming my blog. I know its a pain in the arse, but its gotta be done I'm afraid.

Donnybrook, Donnybrook, Donnybrook

This is my last post from my Warfare Miniatures Ottomans, using a set of rules tat you may have heard of before?

Ottoman Cavalry force

Unit of Elite Sipahis of the Porte - armoured, lance, pistols and shield - 3 models
Unit of Drilled Balkan Timariot Sipahis - armoured, lance, pistols - 6 models
Unit of Drilled Anatolian Sipahis - spear, bow - 6 models
Unit of Recruit Tribal cavalry - bows - 9 models

These were bought and sold as a three man unit of Elite Sipahis of the Porte, but as I previously painted up a unit of Dixon Sipahis of the Porte and Warfare will soon be realising more Sipahis. I' decided to use these 3 figures as Character figures instead.

The Ottoman Serasker (Supreme Commander)
Grand Vizier Merzifonlu Kara Mustafa Pasha
Hero - D12

Abaza Sari Hüseyin Pasha, Beylerbeyi of Damascus
Champion-D10

Standard Bearer
Hasim Adem Alpaslan
D8

So my three mounted command figures will earn me 10 points each

Making a Grand total of

30 points!
