AHPC11 - The Chamber of Challenge - Alter of the Snow Lord - Gendarmes 1525

I've finally found my way to the Alter of the Snow Lord!

The Altar of the Snow Lord: In this final chamber our very own Snow Fiend will select a challenge for you, as a tribute to the painting Gods.

From Curt..........Okay Ray! I heard you mention that, in the long and distant past, you and the Rejects collected 15mm Italian Wars figures to do Pavia. Well, colour me intrigued - I'd like to see a unit of these done up. What say you?

For my Oubliette post a few weeks ago, I painted up some 15mm Renaissance infantry that 

have been laying around for far too long. These Gendarmes have also been laying in a box for far too long and it was about time they got a lick of paint!

The figures are from Venexia, which I bought at Salute form the original Venexia owners many moons ago.

They can be used for either side of the Battle of Pavia in1525.

I'm pleased how they came out, trouble is what do I do with the rest of the unpainted figures??

AHPC11 - Donnybrook - Jacobite's and their Flags

 

I think I have a problem?

Yes, I do own a secret Scottish Jacobite army for Donnybrook!!!

But I had no standard bearers, so.........

Cameron of Lochiel's a Redoubt figure

All the brilliant flags come from that giant of a flag maker Sir Iain of McDonald at  Flags of War

Here we have a Warlord figure representing Alisdair 'The Devastator' Mac Colla

Most of my Scottish force are Redoubt figures, which a on the larger side of large, so this Warlord figure fits is really well, he'll be used as a character or commander.

So 4 x 25mm figures will add a further 25 points to my total.

AHPC11 - Haitian Revolution - Rebel Artillery 30pts

 

From what I've read so far, its highly unlikely that the Rebel force had or used any artillery. Some of the Rebels/slaves were very well treated and were highly educated, so I thought that maybe they might have had a little artillery training form the French or Spanish forces on the island. So I thouht it would be a good idea to include 1 artillery piece in their army.

I'm not at all sure what make this gun is? I painted it a a dark red colour to represent a captured Spanish artillery piece, which means if I ever fancy getting some Spanish, I can always use this gun.

How to represent artillerymen for the Rebel Slaves? Was my first question.

All 4 figures are from Front Rank, the first is from their Napoleonic Civilian range. I did consider a head swap but chose to keep him as he is and have him as a Mulatto (a person of mixed racial race). The kneeling figure is from Front Rank's AWI range, with a Trent Miniatures head swap. The chap with the bucket is also from their AWI range, again I painted this figure up with a lighter skin tone as I wanted to keep his hat. The last figure is again from their AWI range with another head swap
