RP No 132 15mm FIW - Rangers & Indian Canoes

More figures that I've had for far too long sitting in my unloved figure draw are this bunch of canoes and rafts for the French Indian Wars. They are mainly from Irregular Miniatures with a spattering of Matchlock Miniatures.
For the British side there are 10 canoes and 6 rafts, while the Indian which of course can be used for both sides have 22 canoes, ( a bit ott, I know??) They're not the best or most detailed 15mm figures out there, but when I bought them they were the only two companies who sold them. But they work fine for me.
I have loads of scenarios all planned in my head to use these figures, one problem I found was the lack of unmanned canoes that are for sale, so I based all the figures for the canoes on coffee stirrers out of McDonald's, some needed a little trimming but the fit in quite snug.
So when the Indians land I'll take out the figures and leave the canoes on the beach, for the rangers to find and either hole them or pinch them!
These were part of my last sandbagging post on Curt's painting challenge, I'm not sure what points they earned me as Curt combined the points for a few entries.

Lastly....Is anyone else having a problem when posting? My and Fran's posts have taken around 3 hours to register up on other bloggers Blog Rolls?? I posted this at 1037 its now 1347 and still nothings came up???

  1. Two oars up! Very clever Ray, I love it! I'll be interested to see a F&I game with canoes at the opening.

  2. That's a lot of canoes! And using McDonald's stirrers - clever.
This showed up in my Reader thirty minutes ago. I'm still using Google Reader until the end of the Challenge, and I've noticed many posts don't appear right away. Hoping when I switch to using Bloglovin' all the time that problem goes away.

  8. I really like the models, painting, and period! I'm slowly working on my FIW forces. My family purchased several Conquest Minuratures packs while I was deployed. Sauk look like Sauk,Iroqouis look Iroqouis, etc... they are fantastic and 28mm. Warlord games now owns the line and have been slowly rereleasing them and have included French and British troops. With the black powder rules, I may do something besides painting ancestors and actually game them!
I noticed that my blog won't reveal comments or views. It does pop up in google plus, but being more of a roughneck and all thumbs with computers, I'm a little lost in the goggleplus format!
I have sucessfully found all the stuff you, Fran, and Big Lee +1 there. The lag doesn't seem to be an issue there. My last blog post appeared in google plus appeared after I sent it, but did not appear on my blog for almost 40 min!

  12. Certainly looks just a tad ott, but we'll look forward to seeing all the "dismounts". The water effect you've achieved is very admiral. (did you see what I did there ?)

  22. Quite a nice bunch. I think being able to take the paddles out of the canoes is a great idea. I haven't been posting much lately so I don't know.

  23. Ray,
Another set of nicely painted models. May I suggest using my rules for the "Great Canoe Race", to get additional use out of your canoes? If interested, send me an e-mail. Follow my link to some pics of games I ran in the past: http://s208.photobucket.com/user/redmist1122/slideshow/The%20Great%20Canoe%20Race

Bottom line - tons of fun!!!
